Shaun grew up in Lethbridge Alberta and first received two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Lethbridge, studying Art and Multimedia. From there he moved to Vancouver and became a visual effects storyboard artist for the sci-fi action series Andromeda. After five years of working on a variety of television and animated films, he decided to shift his focus toward writing and directing in Ontario.

Shaun has recently earned his Advanced Television and Film diploma at Sheridan College. While there Shaun wrote the dramatic short Filth, produced the music video Divided, and Produced the Comedic short Officebot. Shaun Martens is currently writing a live action feature film, and developing an animated short with fellow Sheridan alumni.
