Owen received his Film B.A. with honors at Brock university. During this time: he worked with BrockTV as a Producer, Cinematographer and Director. In his final year at Brock he shot Bryan Bryan with Director Adrian Theissen and Producer Michael Gillespie. Bryan Bryan won the NIFF as well as Brock's 24 hour film festival.

After, Owen attended Sheridan College where he studied Camera and Lighting as well as Production Design. He was director of photography on 'Filth' shooting on the F900 and HVX 200. As well as the Production designer of Officebot. He exited Sheridan receiving an academic achievement award and has moved on to freelance in various fields. He recently AD'd Stefan Kuchars' 'Tread Softly', works as a lighting technician for Cuppa Coffee, as well responds to all on set inquries. Owen has had technical experience working with RED, HVX, F900 as well as film cameras SR-2 and BL-III.
